Yabai! I currently have a crush on this guy!! Yabai, Yabai! XD This would be my next crush after Narimiya Hiroki, haha~ I used to have a big crush on Nari, but then it faded away fast, it came back again once, but then faded away again... I dunno, with Nari, I don't always feel interested in him, but when I do, I'll keep looking for anything on him like crazy, but when I don't, the like feeling just suddenly became zero XD It's really a different case with Arashi and Toma... I'm quite stable and steady in liking them. I feel like Mukai would be the same case as Nari. I might get bored with him quickly, but I still don't know about that.... coz I'M CRAZY ABOUT HIM right now, haha~ Kept squealing when I watched this show XD

I've actually noticed how handsome he is, ever since I watched Honey & Clover, and I've come to like him, ever since. Then I watched Seigi no Mikata, and my crush on him got bigger. But, not until Atashinchi no Danshi Ep8 that made me go crazy on him!! haha! (but, ehem... no matter what, Katori Shingo will always be my "husband" =P)

Alright, a bit introduction on Mukai from his Japanese Wikipedia page. He was born in Yokohama, 7 February 1982. His hobby is soccer, motorbike, alcoholic beverages and cooking. He has 12 years experience in soccer, his position was defense. He is good in cooking Japanese foods. He likes to make fish dishes that goes with white rice, in a variety show, he once cooked pasta. In the entertainment world, he's quite close with Arashi's Matsumoto Jun, Ikuta Toma, Uchi Hiroki, Narimiya Hiroki and Shucchishin's Nokubo Naoki. Waaa... all of them are my favorite guys^^ (except Nokubo, dunno abt him)

Before entering the entertainment world, he was working as a bartender for 6 years, and had even been the branch manager for a year.

He's a Meiji University, Faculty of Agriculture graduate, majoring life science, specialized in genetic engineering. Sugoi!

Ueda(host): What kind of research have you done?
Mukai: I created a new type of gene...
Ueda: You created a new gene??!
Ueda: You should've played the leading role in GALILEO!!!
Mukai: *laughs* No, no, no...
Mukai: That was physics, right? I majored life science, so it's different.
Ueda: Okay.



A surprise for Mukai-kun, the staff has visited the research laboratory and one of his sensei gave a message for him.

Fujiki (host): Actually, he had also won an award, a world-scale award during his college period.
Fujiki: It was Best Poster Award 2004 in the 29th International Society of Animal Genetics.
Fujiki: The research theme was to make the chicken's ovalbulmin gene respond to estrogene, and activated just the fallopian tube tissue as the control element.
Ueda: Wakaranwa!! (I don't get it at all!!)

LOL! MECHA KUCHA ATAMA II JAN!!!!@_@ No wonder, Horikita Maki said he is smart!! But then, instead of being a scientist, he worked as a bartender after graduation, haha. During his bartender days, there were some famous people too, came to his bar, like Hayami Mokomichi^^

Then they asked him to perform his bartender skill^^

Ueda: Sou desu ne! Whoever he is with, his imperfectness stands out, anyway!

"He's MR. PERFECT! He's good in soccer and strong in drinking alcohol. He's also strangely strong in rock-paper-scissors game.

Haha, Ueda told him to do the rock-paper-scissors with Fujiki but Mukai lost!! Haha, he looked shock!! Kawaii~

Ueda: So, is there anything you think is your weakness?
Mukai: I'm totally no good with karaoke.
Ueda: Why? But you have musical devices in your house!
Mukai: But I can't sing. I really can't sing.
Ueda: Oh?
Mukai: If I'm told to start singing and release a song, I'll quit this job.
Ueda: *laughs* Are you that bad??
Mukai: I have no confidence at all!
Ueda: Are you off-key (tone-deaf)??
Ueda: Or not?
Mukai: I think I am off-key.
Ueda: Try sing a bit, then.
Mukai: Iya desu(no)!! Iya desu!! Definitely, no~
Mukai: If anything at all... to sing on TV...
Ueda: You DEFINITELY won't??
Mukai: ...it's a FIRM REFUSAL.
Izumi: But I think you have a sexy speaking voice... you have a low voice...
Ueda: Yes! You have a cool voice!
Mukai: No...
Ueda: No?
Mukai: No, I don't think so. I feel that I'm really bad at it.
Ueda: What if you're told, "C'mon! Release a CD debut!".
Mukai: *laughs* That's definitely...
Ueda: You'd really quit the entertainment world?
Mukai: Yes, yes, I will! I will go back to my bartender job!
(Ueda laughs)

Ueda: Okay, next is from your junior highschool classmate. What kind of junior high student Mukai-san was? "He was cool, mature and popular." A girl once asked me to convey her feelings to Mukai-kun, and when I did, he said, "Ah, gomen ne(I'm very sorry)... warui kedo...", he responded in a cool way.
Mukai: Heeh? There's no such thing at all...



Ueda: You don't remember?
Mukai: No, I don't.
Ueda: Mm... ah, I know why you don't remember this, I know!
Mukai: No, no, I remember! I remember!
Ueda: You got that everyday, didn't you??!
Mukai: *laughs* No, no!
Izumi: Aaaaah.... so that's it.....
Ueda: You were going to show off about this!



Mukai: *he looked down and looked very embarrassed but then he looked up* ...well, it took me some time (to be able to show off about this)...

Haha... I think Mukai was trying to make it a joke at the end^^

Ueda: Do you remember when you confessed your feelings to a girl during junior high?
Mukai: Yes, yes, I remember.
Ueda: How was it?
Mukai: It was really old-fashioned.
Ueda: So the girl you liked...
Mukai: ....I asked a friend to call her...
Mukai: The day before, I really thought alot about how should I tell her.
Mukai: Coz I haven't talk with her much before, ...she was a transfer student.
Mukai: I called her on the day right before summer vacation... that time, I thought, even if she reject me, I just had to...
Ueda: I see, you won't be able to see her in a month, anyway, huh?
Mukai: Then on that day, I called her, although I've thought alot about what to say to her, but when she was there, I couldn't say anything anymore, except "Tsukiatte kudasai!(please, be my girlfriend)".
Izumi: How was it?
Mukai: Well, my luck was good...
Ueda: That's good!!!
Mukai: I never had that kind of experience for the second time.
Ueda: So what type of girl you like?
Mukai: *looks at Izumi, then looks down* The graceful type...
Izumi: Oh, no...
Fujiki: *to Izumi* You're not in that category already!
Ueda: *to Izumi* Too bad, too bad! You've failed.
Izumi: Actually, before he said that, he was looking at me!
(Ueda and Fujiki laughs)
Mukai: I wonder if it was okay to say it...
Ueda: So you were worried about her feelings?

Ueda: So, you like the graceful type??
Mukai: Yes!
Ueda: Maybe, you like the 'yamato nadeshiko'(ideal Japanese woman) type?
Mukai: Ah, sou... really, seem like that's it! But 2-3 steps less than that, is fine, too.
Izumi: Those types are boring, y'know!
(others laughs)
Mukai: Sou desu ka(really)??

Ideal Japanese woman? Feminine, lady-like, properly mannered, graceful, elegant, a model for all women. I was thinking of Nakama Yukie when he said "graceful" and "yamato nadeshiko". Nakama is definitely in this category. But then after watching Horikita Maki in 5LDK, I think, Maki is in this category too. She's very feminine, smart, educated and well-mannered, although a bit aloof. I'm surprised she said she has enough friends, so she doesn't want to make more friends^^;;;

Back to the show, they have borrowed a junior high school graduation year album from Mukai's junior high classmate. They showed Mukai's photo on it.

Mukai: So young!
Fujiki: Looks exactly like a member of the soccer club.

Ueda: Did you modify your face after this?
Mukai: No, no!! Not at all! This is my real face!

Izumi: Which one is your ex-girlfriend?
Mukai: I can't tell you that!
Izumi: Eeee... why???
Ueda: Just tell us!
Mukai: *laughs out loud*
Ueda: The camera won't shoot it, so tell us!
Fujiki: Was she in the same class with you?
Mukai: No, she wasn't...
Ueda: Then which class? Which class?
Fujiki: Which class??!
(the whole studio laughs)



Mukai: *looks through the pages* She's... ahh, she's here...
Fujiki: She's here?
(Mukai pointed on the photo)
Fujiki: Ohhh~~
Izumi: Ohhhh.... kawaiiiii(she's cute)!!!
Ueda: Where?? Aaaa.... kawaii wa!
Ueda: So, her name is *mentioned the name, but censored by the show's staff*
Mukai: CHOTTO!!!
Ueda: *laughs out loud*
Mukai: CHOTTO!!!

Haha.... Mukai was between mad and shy!! Kawaiii~~

They showed Mukai's childhood photos too. Ueda asked again whether or not Mukai modified his face, LOL!



Then they showed VTR where Mukai and Fujiki goes to a farm, coz Mukai said he wants to go to see an animal called ALPACA. Mukai is chooooo kawaiiii in this VTR, he looks very excited and he was having fun with the animals^^

At the end, Fujiki showed a poll book from his junior high classmate, it was a poll of "If you become a big star...".

Fujiki: Do you remember of what you wrote?
Mukai: Not AT ALL!
Fujiki: Here it is... "I want to become like Sorimachi Takashi."
Mukai: *laughs* I liked Sorimachi Takashi alot! And I kept saying "Sorimachi Takashi-san kakkoii!" that time.

I'm sorry but I've left out a few topics^^ I really recommend this to Mukai fans, it's a MUST-SEE, coz seem like Mukai rarely appear in talk shows. I just realized that he had NOT YET promote Atashinchi no Danshi around, much =( Only IiTomo SP and Nep League, desho? The other promos were done by Maki, Kaname Jun, Yamamoto Yusuke and Seto Koji.

Would really like to see him in a true leading role someday!^^ He has never get the leading role yet. His role in AtaDan is the BIGGEST one, so far. And I didn't even expect that, coz I thought Kaname Jun would get the main male character part...but apparently Mukai got it^^

His next project after AtaDan is BECK, a movie adaptation of an original manga and anime, about a rock band. He will play the role as the bassist. Kyaaaa~~ mitaiii!!!^v^ He is currently going on training in playing a bass guitar. His role in the original manga is blonde, so I wonder if he'll dye his hair?
Also, from the anime character description, his role, Taira Yoshiyuki, tend to remove his shirt midway through the song during performances and continue playing without it. I was like @_@ Will Mukai-kun goes half-naked then, everytime he performs with the rock band??? XDDD Waaaaaaaaaa~~~~~~~~
