Mukai Osamu in dramas

I made reviews of Mukai's dramas, he hasn't star that many dramas so it's easy to follow. Before, I've only watched him in Nodame Cantabile, Honey & Clover, Seigi no Mikata and the recent drama, Atashinchi no Danshi. But I've finally watched another 4 dramas he starred.

Before that, I'll mention his little roles first.
His first appearance in TV drama was Byakuyakou, Ep3. Byakuyakou is like one of the CLASSIC drama for me, so I'm surprised to know he's there, I didn't remember at all XD And so I re-checked Ep3. haha... such a small role, he only appeared in 1 episode and his face wasn't even zoomed in by the camera. His scene was together with Yamada Takayuki and Koide Keisuke.

I think he also had a small role in Regatta. He had a bit bigger role in Nodame Cantabile, but still not significant enough. And his acting was quite stiff in Nodame too. He also appeared in Bambino, probably big enough? I have no interest at all to watch Bambino. Basically, food dramas doesn't interest me (as well as medical ones). And his role here doesn't seem appealing too, so I stopped after Ep1 XD

So, I've watched Abarenbo Mama just specially for Mukai (and Seto Koji, I guess), coz I don't like Ueto Aya (honestly? watching KonKatsu is like a torture for me XD).



I watched this really fast, haha... fast-forwarded to see Mukai and Seto only. His role is so interesting and cute!! Haha... I mean a kindergarten teacher!!^v^ Ikemen kindergarten teacher! haha... young mommies really likes him. I enjoyed his acting here, esp. everytime this one young mother try to attack him, lol.



I also enjoyed his interactions with Seto Koji here.... haha (AtaDan's) 3rd son and 5th son XD omoshiroi!

I watched Honey and Clover weekly on TV when I was in Japan. Basically for Toma and Nari. And this is where I came to love Mukai! Yappari, Mayama kakkoiiii~~!! He portrayed Mayama very closely! I totally love his portrayal better than Kase Ryo in the movie version. I'm a big fan of the original anime, and I'm definitely satisfied with Mukai's portrayal as Mayama!!^^

I had interest in Osen since a long time ago, but only had the chance to watch this yesterday. I'm surprised that his role is the high-tension type and bad-tempered here, really similar with Sho in AtaDan!!^o^ I totally love his character in this drama!! His character, Tome, had his own focus story in Ep7 too! I just wish there's romance between Tome and Osen(Aoi Yu) XD They look cute together!



I also love this drama! It's about food indeed, but since there's a traditional twist to it, I enjoyed this drama very much. I also love Uchi Hiroki's acting here! It's very funny everytime he starts to argue/fight with Mukai's character^^ Too bad this drama has no romance plot at all, not even between Uchi Hiroki and Aoi Yu, although they have so many scenes together. At one time, it does look like Mukai's character likes Osen alot, and he kept stopping any other guys who tried to come close to her, including Uchi's character^^ On the episode where Osen is going for omiai(arranged marriage), Tome(Mukai) looks so upset all the time. But then, at the end, he implied that he's upset because he just want Osen to stay as the owner of their traditional restaurant and worried that if she gets married, their restaurant won't be the same anymore... in the end, he painfully decided to support Osen's omiai^^ I love Osen character too, kawaii~ Reminds me of Hagumi (Honey & Clover), btw XD She should've portray Hagu like this in the movie XD (or maybe it was just the script's fault)

Interesting that Okada Yoshinori (Takeru, 2nd son in AtaDan) appeared in Ep2! lol! I squealed when there was a scene of Mukai and Yosshi together.... aaaa, 2nd son and 3rd son! haha.

Seigi no Mikata is DEFINITELY one of the MUST-SEE family comedy drama!! I downloaded this drama weekly when it aired. Mukai's character here is quite boring, although very kakkoii!!^^ But I really watch this for the story, choooo omoshiroi!! Yamada Yu did a great job as the evil sister, haha~ Shida Mirai is hillarious too! This drama is really fun^^ I quite like Yamada Yu and Mukai Osamu's pairing too, here. Haha... I don't know, although the evil sister is quite psycho, I can't help but to support her romance, lol. It was very interesting and funny. Although she got Mukai's attention and love in a very, very cunning way, I feel really amazed with her strong will in trying to get what she wants XD

I watched Scrap Teacher in a fast-forward mode XD I was not interested and STILL not interested when I watched it. Mukai's character is very dull, too -_- I'm sorry, I really don't recommend this drama XD

The first time I heard about Mei-chan no Shitsuji, I was not interested. What? A drama about a highschool for rich young ladies and they all have ikemen butlers? No matter what, it'll turn out to be a stupid drama, deshou?? XD But since Mukai Osamu appeared here, and I found out later that he got paired up again with Yamada Yu in this drama, I got interested! Yes, I like Yamada Yu that much. I first noticed her in Satomi Hakkenden, she was really cool there. I watched her in some varieties and I found out that she has a fun and lively characteristic, so I come to like her alot. Anyway, so I thought... oh well... at least, I'll just watch Mukai and Yu's scenes, if it doesn't turn out good.



So first impression I got when I watch this drama was... "Wha---??", "Are you kidding??", "Wake wakannai dorama, kore!", "Probably this should be a drama for 12 years old girls and below?"... haha, as I expected... this drama is stupid. But it's sooooooo stupid, that it's actually GOOD!! LOL! I ended up watching 80% of this drama, and fast-forwarded only 20% of it, which means, I actually like this drama! LOL! Although I like this drama, I perfectly realized this drama really has no meaning XD And I can understand why some people dislike this drama, haha.
It's just TOO MUCH of a fantasy, that even there's a message implied in this drama, it doesn't needed or useful in reality! XD

I like the relationships between the young ladies and their butlers that got their own focus stories. The lady and her butler are not allowed to have love relationship, it is forbidden. So these ladies and their butlers' relationships are quite odd, I'd say. I mean to have such a handsome young man being loyal to you forever, how can you not fall in love with him?? XD All of these butlers are very loyal to their ladies. But some, like Izumi, seem tried to hold herself back and try not to have feelings for her butler more than just a lady to her butler, although it's obvious that she cares alot about her butler^^

I like some of the lady-butler pairs' focused stories, like Kayama Rika and Aoyama in Ep2, which btw I really like the actress...she really suits this kind of role^^ Or Kiba(such a cute boy!) and Izumi, also Daimon and Miruku-chan(the little girl)...kawaiiii~~~

First and foremost, I think Mizushima Hiro and Eikura Nana's chemistry was really good! Can't help but to support Rihito and Mei's romance^^ I liked Sato Takeru in Bistro SMAP, but I don't like him here, his character here is annoying XD
Mizushima really performed a great acting here, he really suits the role of THE Butler XD The best of the best among butlers.

Actually I'm more interested in the making! lol, so I downloaded the Before Broadcast SP of this drama, and as I expected during filming breaks, they were all playing ladies and butlers too, LOL! Yuki Jutta, who plays as Kiba, actually massaged Iwasa Mayuko's shoulder, the actress who played as his lady, Izumi, haha~ Hiro who watched those moments during filming breaks, feels "kimochi warui" about it, lol.



Oops... I haven't mentioned Mukai and Yu, the main reason I watched this drama in the first place? Somehow Mukai Osamu and Yamada Yu's roles doesn't stand out to me here... although they suppose to be the antagonist characters. Yamada Yu acted Lady Shiori perfectly, she was really good, but I hate her character^^;; Mukai plays as Shiori's butler, Shinobu, and he is suppose to be the bad guy here... but I don't know, he just doesn't stand out here. I'm not really impressed with his role here. There are antagonist characters and acting performance I really love in dramas (like Suzuki Ryohei as Kurokawa in Majo Saiban), but Mukai as Shinobu is just not one of them. Oh, and most of the time Mukai and Yu provided the "soap opera" elements of this drama^^;;;

And finally! Atashinchi no Danshi!! I have always loved family comedy dramas about BROTHERS!! Like Lunch no Joou, Brothers Beat, Himitsu no Hanazono!^o^ AtaDan is not an exception! It's really such a fun drama and I love ALL the casts!! Mukai Osamu as Sho, the 3rd son, really stands out in this drama! Sho is funny, silly and hot-tempered. Checking news and Japanese boards, apparently Mukai has gained alot more fans because of AtaDan!!^o^ Many people comments, "yeah, girls around has become Mukai's fans since AtaDan,", "My mother's friends has come to love Mukai Osamu... so maybe its just the obasan-s??", "Not really, girls surround me who become Mukai's fans are highschool girls,". Ahahaha~~ I'm glad that Mukai has now young and old fans!!^o^ AtaDan is definitely his big break! I really hope he get more OISHII~ roles in the future. And hopefully, starting next year, he'll get LEADING ROLES!^o^

Looking forward to his appearance in Ninkyo Helper (although he might not appear alot), and will continue to watch Futatsu no Spica on NHK (although he has sooooo small number of appearances here XD). And of course, looking forward to BECK!! Taira character in the anime doesn't really stand out, but I hope that changes in the movie... although it IS kinda hard to steal Hiro's spotlight^^;;; (like in Mei-chan? XD)

There's also rumor that he will star Nagase Tomoya's upcoming drama "Karei naru Spy" as an expert in computer and hacking! I hope it's true! Coz most likely he'll be wearing glasses again!! XD

Oops... I forgot to mention his first movie, Gachi Boy starring with Sato Ryuta.... I downloaded and watched... but I TOTALLY have no interest in wrestling, so I only watched the first half and stopped^^;;; Mukai rarely has focus too, here... most of the time his scenes are with 5-6 other casts =(

Btw, Mukai has never appeared in jidaigeki dramas, ne? I'd like to see him in sword-fighting scenes^^ And speaking of that, if Japan ever want to adapt Shen Diao Xia Lu (Return of The Condor Heroes), I think Mukai Osamu would really suit Yang Guo(Yo Ko)'s role, lol XD
